The wedding season that opens after Tulsi Vivah 2026 is short. Online panchangs list eleven vivah muhurat dates in November and December 2026: 21, 24, 25 and 26 November, and 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 11 and 12 December. There is nothing in October, nothing before 21 November, and nothing after 12 December until 15 January 2027. Several of those eleven dates have only a few usable hours, so the real choice for a family booking a hall is narrower still.
Below are the dates with their Pune timings, how far the panchangs agree, what each date is good for in practice, and why the rest of these two months is closed.
Vivah muhurat dates in November and December 2026
The timings are Drik Panchang's, calculated for Pune. A Hindu day runs from sunrise to sunrise, so a window that "ends at 3:27 AM" ends in the early hours of the next calendar day.
| Date | Day | Muhurat window (Pune) | Nakshatra |
|---|---|---|---|
| 21 November | Saturday | 6:44 AM to 12:08 AM (midnight) | Revati |
| 24 November | Tuesday | From 11:25 PM, into the morning of the 25th | Rohini |
| 25 November | Wednesday | Sunrise to sunrise, the whole day | Rohini, Mrigashira |
| 26 November | Thursday | 6:47 AM to 5:47 PM | Mrigashira |
| 2 December | Wednesday | From 10:32 AM, through the night | Uttara Phalguni |
| 3 December | Thursday | 6:52 AM to 10:53 AM, and again from 11:03 PM | Uttara Phalguni, Hasta |
| 4 December | Friday | 6:52 AM to 10:22 AM | Hasta |
| 5 December | Saturday | From 11:48 AM, through the night | Swati |
| 6 December | Sunday | 6:54 AM to 7:42 AM only | Swati |
| 11 December | Friday | Before dawn: about 3:04 AM to 6:57 AM on the 12th | Uttara Ashadha |
| 12 December | Saturday | 6:57 AM to 3:27 AM (night) | Uttara Ashadha |
Times shift by a few minutes from city to city because sunrise does. Mumbai, Nashik or Kolhapur will be close to Pune but not identical.
How we checked these dates
We compared three independent online panchangs for this season.
- Drik Panchang lists all eleven dates above, and its list for Pune matches its list for New Delhi day for day.
- Shubh Panchang lists the same dates with near-identical hours, except that it does not show the window that opens on the morning of 2 December.
- Prokerala gives a shorter list. It agrees on 21, 25 and 26 November, on 3 and 4 December and on the pre-dawn window of 11-12 December. It starts 2 December only late at night, running into the morning of the 3rd. It does not list 24 November, 5 or 6 December, or the daytime of 12 December, and it adds a short window on 20 November, the Ekadashi itself.
So the dates every source agrees on are 21, 25 and 26 November and 3 and 4 December. The others are listed by two of the three. That is normal: publishers weigh the same rules a little differently, and the panchang your family's guruji uses has the final word.
What about Date Panchang and Kalnirnay?
Many Marathi families go by Date Panchang or the Kalnirnay calendar, and these follow their own reckoning. We could not find their November-December 2026 list published online, so check the printed edition or ask your guruji.
Expect some differences. For the 2025-26 season, Pudhari reported Mohan Date's list with wedding dates from 23 to 29 January 2026. Drik Panchang showed no dates at all that January, because it treats the whole month as Shukra asta, the period when Venus is too close to the Sun to be seen. Neither is wrong; they follow different rules. If your family uses a Marathi almanac, treat the table above as a starting point, not the final list.
Which dates actually work for a wedding
A muhurat that falls at 3 AM is a valid muhurat, and some families do hold a pre-dawn ceremony. Most families booking a karyalaya, though, want a window that covers a daytime or evening ceremony with guests. Read the table that way and the season looks like this:
- Full days: 21 November (Saturday), 25 November (Wednesday) and 12 December (Saturday). These are the dates halls and caterers will be asked for first, and the two Saturdays most of all. 21 November is also the day most panchangs give for Tulsi Vivah.
- Daytime until late afternoon: 26 November. The window closes at 5:47 PM, a little before sunset in Pune, so an evening goraj ceremony does not fit it by this calculation.
- Morning only: 3 and 4 December, both ending before 11 AM. Good for a traditional morning lagna.
- Late morning onwards: 2 December and 5 December. The 5th is a Saturday with the afternoon and evening open.
- Short or night windows: 24 November (from 11:25 PM), 6 December (under an hour after sunrise) and 11 December (before dawn). These suit small family ceremonies more than a large wedding.
If you are aiming for a weekend with the whole day available, you have two: 21 November and 12 December. Families who have not booked yet should look hard at the Wednesday and Thursday dates, which are easier to get and often cheaper.
Why October and early November 2026 have no muhurats
Two separate reasons close the autumn months.
Chaturmas. The four-month period that began at Ashadhi Ekadashi in July ends at Prabodhini (Kartiki) Ekadashi, which falls on Friday 20 November 2026. Traditionally no weddings are held before it, so 21 November is the first date of the season. Our guide to Maharashtra's wedding seasons explains the pause and the practical reasons behind it.
Shukra asta in October. Even without Chaturmas, October 2026 would be closed. Drik Panchang marks Venus as set from 12 to 28 October, with a few days on either side when it is treated as too "old" or too "young" to be favourable. The first half of October is excluded anyway, because the Sun is in Kanya (Virgo) until mid-month. Weddings are not held while Venus or Jupiter is set.
Tulsi Vivah itself is the hinge between the two halves of the year. Drik Panchang gives Saturday 21 November 2026 for it, the Dwadashi after Prabodhini Ekadashi, and families keep it on any day up to Kartik Purnima on 24 November. Our post on Tulsi Vivah covers the story and the ritual.
The gaps inside the season
Even between 21 November and 12 December, most days are not muhurats.
- No suitable nakshatra: 22-23 November, 27-29 November and 13-15 December. A wedding needs the Moon in one of a short list of nakshatras such as Rohini, Mrigashira, Uttara Phalguni, Hasta, Swati, Uttara Ashadha or Revati.
- An unfavourable yoga: 30 November.
- Dhanurmas (Kharmas) from 16 December: the Sun enters Dhanu (Sagittarius) on 16 December 2026 and stays there until Makar Sankranti in mid-January. This month is closed to weddings, which is why the next date after 12 December is 15 January 2027.
For the dates from January onward, see our month-by-month list of shubh vivah muhurats for 2027.
Frequently asked questions
Is there any marriage muhurat in November 2026? Yes, four: 21, 24, 25 and 26 November. All of them fall after Prabodhini Ekadashi on 20 November. Of the four, 24 November has only a late-night window.
When does the wedding season start after Tulsi Vivah 2026? On 21 November 2026, the same day most panchangs give for Tulsi Vivah. It runs until 12 December, then pauses for Dhanurmas until 15 January 2027.
Why is there no muhurat in October 2026? Chaturmas is still running, and on top of that Venus is set for most of the month. Either one alone rules out weddings.
Are there any wedding dates in late December 2026? Not by these panchangs. The Sun is in Dhanu from 16 December, and the next muhurat is 15 January 2027.
Which panchang should we follow? The one your family and your guruji use. The online lists here agree on most dates, but a Marathi almanac such as Date Panchang may add or drop some. The final date should also be checked against the couple's kundalis.
The dates and timings above come from the online panchangs named in this post, as published in October 2026. They are a planning guide. Confirm the final muhurat and its exact time with your family priest.
If you are still looking for the right match rather than the right date, Vivah Swapn has verified Marathi profiles from Pune and across Maharashtra, and the next season opens in January.
