Drik Panchang's calculation for Pune gives 95 shubh vivah muhurat dates in 2027. May has the most (19), then June (16) and February (13). There are no wedding muhurats from 13 July to 9 November, because Chaturmas runs from Devshayani Ekadashi on 14 July to Prabodhini Ekadashi on 10 November. There are also none from 15 March to 17 April, a stretch that covers the Sun's month in Meena, or after 14 December, as the Sun enters Dhanu on 16 December. Take this list as a starting point, and have your guruji confirm the date against your own panchang and both kundlis.
Almost every family asks the same question once a match is fixed: when can the wedding be? Below is every 2027 date, with the nakshatra and the muhurat time, followed by why the gaps fall where they do and how far Marathi panchangs agree with this list.

Wedding muhurat dates 2027, month by month
The times are Drik Panchang's for Pune. Elsewhere in Maharashtra they shift by a few minutes, and the nakshatra is the same everywhere.
A panchang day runs from one sunrise to the next, so a muhurat that falls in the small hours is listed under the previous date. Read the time column before you book a hall. The muhurat listed for 30 January, for example, falls between 3:55 and 7:08 in the morning of 31 January. The same applies to 9 and 14 February, 3 March, 8 and 16 May, 9 and 20 June, 8 July, and 20 and 29 November.

January and February are the heart of the winter season, and February has the most dates of any month before summer. March ends early, on the 14th, and April only resumes on the 18th. May and June are the busiest months of 2027. Families who want a May date in Pune should expect strong competition for halls and an evening muhurat that avoids the heat.
Why some months have no dates in 2027
The gaps in the list are not random. Each one has a reason a panchang can point to.
- Dhanu (1 to 14 January and from 16 December). The Sun is in Dhanu from 16 December 2026 to 14 January 2027, and again from 16 December 2027. Many panchangs call this kharmas or dhanurmas and give no wedding dates in it, which is why the year opens on 15 January.
- Meena (15 March to 13 April). The Sun is in Meena from 15 March to 14 April, and Drik Panchang treats that solar month as closed for weddings. Weddings resume after the Sun enters Mesha, and the first April date in Drik Panchang's list is the 18th.
- Chaturmas (14 July to 10 November). Devshayani (Ashadhi) Ekadashi is on 14 July 2027 and Prabodhini (Kartiki) Ekadashi on 10 November 2027. Tulsi Vivah follows from 11 November, and the November dates open the new season.
- Shukra and Guru asta. Drik Panchang marks Venus as set (Shukra asta) from 21 July to 4 September 2027 and Jupiter as set (Guru asta) from 8 to 12 September. Both fall inside Chaturmas this year, so they remove no extra dates. Drik Panchang also avoids the few days just before Venus sets and just after it rises again.
- No adhik maas. 2027 has no extra lunar month. 2026 had an adhik Jyeshtha, and the next adhik maas comes in 2029.
2027 is a Simhastha year
Jupiter is in Simha (Leo) until about 25 January 2027, and again from about 26 June to about 26 November 2027. This is the Simhastha that brings the Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Kumbh Mela, whose main bathing days fall in August and September 2027.
Some astrologers treat a Simhastha Jupiter as unfavourable for weddings. Drik Panchang says plainly that its marriage calculation does not consider it, so the list above ignores it. If your family or your guruji follows this rule, the dates likely to be questioned are 15 to 24 January, 26 June to 12 July, and 10 to 26 November. Ask before you book any of them.
Which panchang this list follows
These dates are Drik Panchang's marriage muhurats calculated for Pune. We compared them with Drik Panchang's New Delhi list, which differs only by a day here and there (it includes 1 July and 8 December and leaves out 8 May). We also checked the nakshatra of every date against an independent astronomical calculation, and each one falls in one of the eleven nakshatras used for weddings.
That still does not make it the only list. Marathi panchangs such as Date and Kalnirnay publish their own muhurats in their printed editions, using their own rules, and their dates can differ from these. One visible example: Kalnirnay's website lists wedding muhurats for October 2026, which falls inside that year's Chaturmas, while Drik Panchang gives none. Many Marathi families also use the goraj muhurat at dusk when the daytime muhurat is inconvenient. Whichever panchang your guruji uses is the one that decides.
What changed in this list
An earlier version of this post had several dates from March to June that do not hold up. On 8 March and 4 June the Moon is at amavasya, and on 17 April, 29 May, 7 June, 14 June and 18 June it is in a nakshatra that is not used for weddings. Those dates have been removed. Dates the panchang does give were missing, among them 2, 3, 4, 10 and 14 March, 21, 26 and 28 April, 17, 19, 21 and 23 May and most of June, and have been added. The July, November and December dates are now listed in full, and the claim that weddings resume after Navratri was wrong: in 2027 the first date after Chaturmas is 10 November.
How a vivah muhurat is chosen
A muhurat is more than a convenient Saturday. A guruji looks at the five parts of the panchang, and then at the couple.
- Nakshatra. This weighs most. The eleven nakshatras used for weddings are Rohini, Mrigashira, Magha, Uttara Phalguni, Hasta, Swati, Anuradha, Mula, Uttara Ashadha, Uttara Bhadrapada and Revati. Every date above falls in one of them.
- Solar month. The Sun's sign rules out whole stretches of the year, as in the section above.
- Tithi. Some lunar days are preferred and amavasya is avoided.
- Yoga and karana. Certain yogas and karanas are avoided even on a day with a good nakshatra.
- Vaar (weekday). Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are traditionally preferred, though weekend dates are common in practice. Drik Panchang, for instance, gives tithi and weekday less weight than nakshatra in its calculation.
After that, the guruji checks the chosen day against the bride's and groom's charts. That step is separate from guna milan, which compares the two charts with each other. Our guide to kundli matching and 36 guna milan explains that part.
Planning around your muhurat
- Book the hall and caterer as soon as the date is fixed. Peak dates in May, February and late November go first, especially in Pune, Mumbai and Nashik.
- Keep two or three fallback dates. The kundli, a relative's travel or the hall you want may rule out your first choice.
- Choose morning or evening by the season. February is pleasant at midday. In May an evening or goraj muhurat is kinder to guests.
- Tell relatives early. Family travelling from abroad needs months, not weeks.
- Use the gap. If your match is fixed during Chaturmas, the engagement, the hall booking and the shopping can all be done before the season opens. Our post on wedding seasons in Maharashtra covers how families use those months, and the wedding planning checklist sets out the work month by month.
- Register the marriage afterwards. A wedding in Maharashtra can be registered with the local marriage registrar. Our guide to marriage registration in Maharashtra covers the steps.
Frequently asked questions
How many wedding muhurats are there in 2027? Drik Panchang's list for Pune has 95 days with a marriage muhurat in 2027: 9 in January, 13 in February, 7 in March, 9 in April, 19 in May, 16 in June, 5 in July, none from August to October, 11 in November and 6 in December. Other panchangs give somewhat different totals.
Are there any wedding dates during Chaturmas 2027? Not in Drik Panchang's list. Chaturmas runs from 14 July to 10 November 2027, and the last date before it is 12 July. Some Marathi panchangs do print muhurats in these months, and whether to use one is a family decision.
When does the wedding season start after Tulsi Vivah in 2027? Prabodhini Ekadashi is on 10 November 2027 and Tulsi Vivah from 11 November. The first dates of the new season are 10, 11, 15 and 16 November. Our post on Tulsi Vivah explains why the season opens with it.
Is Akshaya Tritiya 2027 a good wedding date? Akshaya Tritiya falls on Sunday 9 May 2027. Many families treat it as auspicious in itself, and it is also on Drik Panchang's list, with a muhurat from 6:03 am to 7:42 pm in Pune.
Which 2027 wedding dates fall on a weekend? Saturdays: 30 January, 27 February, 24 April, 8, 15 and 22 May, 5, 12, 19 and 26 June, and 20 November. Sundays: 24 and 31 January, 14, 21 and 28 February, 14 March, 18 and 25 April, 9, 16, 23 and 30 May, 13, 20 and 27 June, 11 July, 21 November and 12 December. Check the time column, since on several of these the muhurat falls at night or before sunrise.
Is there an adhik maas in 2027? No. 2026 had an adhik Jyeshtha. The next adhik maas comes in 2029.
